What is this sticky pad called? its under the carpet. stick on both sides. it covers holes in the body. I need to replace a few of them.
What is its name and where can i buy some?

I'll also need to clean off the old one. its been may years since the carpet was removed. Is there any tips on removing the old one?

Re: What is this sticky pad

I call it a sticky pad. There is no official GM name for it.
Dont worry about it. Or if you are just that picky that the thought of a worn out sticky pad out of sight UNDER the carpet keeps you from sleeping at night just grab a tube of seam sealer and smooth it over.
And if you insist on cleaning off the old gooey substance use lacquer thinner or standard paint thinner.

If you spend a lot of time worrying about this petty crap you will probably never drive and enjoy that car like it was made to be. Dont overthink it.

Have removed this from other vehicles.....grab some dry ice and a hammer. Once its really cold you can just whack it a bit and it will shatter.

I have the metal plugs. I dismantled the car in 2007 and moved twice since then but i did take many pictures and have the parts packed and labeled. its been a long time but I'm ready to start putting it back together.
