My 86 Trans Am

Not sure where to do this, but anyway. This is my 51U 86 Trans Am. It’s got the WS6 but sadly is an LG4 automatic. I’ve done some things to it since I bought it this past June. More to come over the long New England winter.

Re: My 86 Trans Am

Thanks guys. I’m not sure how rare it is on the Camaros, but I would imagine the Trans Am is going to be a lot less common. I have only seen one other this color. Of course they did make about 900 Formulas in 1987 in this color. I wanted an LU5 Z28 believe it or not, but I found this and knew I had to have it because I knew it was the original color and rare. Guess when I’m done with this, I’ll sell it and buy an LU5 Z28. Preferably an 83 so I get that overdrive. I had one with the TH200C, that was a horrible transmission

Doesn't the 86 also have overdrive? Do cars get parted out in france? With shipping cost overseas what it is.

Yes, all 83-92 V8 automatics had overdrive. I meant if I get myself the Z28 with the LU5, I’d prefer the 83 because it has overdrive where the 82 does not. I’m in NH, so I’m not sure about things in France

Re: My 86 Trans Am

I love old weird cars like the LU5. I had one and it was cool. Slow but cool. I’d love to T5 swap one really.
