Got LS1 Rear Brakes on today

Well I successfully installed my brakes using my 87 hardline. It required slight bending on the passenger side and drivers side was about 10" to long. So I bent it in a S-shape by the t fitting. which by the way is in the same location.
Ive drove about 100miles with awesome results. No more groaning noises, no clanking of the pads over ever bump. A solid brake petal and increased stopping power by alot. I still cant lock up the fronts or the rear. I think due to cheap pads.

sorry no picture till tomorrow, only one.
But when standing back it looks way bigger in the rear. The rotor takes up almost the whole inner wheel. The front looks so punny compared to the back. Next 6 months I will have new rims and c5 13" Z06 rotor/caliper. Due to raise, and access to dealer discount at my job.
I ll try and upload the pic tomorrow if my girlfriend lets me.

I got my install done this week.. I also have not yet taken pictures. (no digital camera)

I have been having trouble with a leak/brake light coming on. I thought I figured out my leak and drove around with no problems the last two days, but this morning I seem to have started leaking again.

I went to a 20" line on the drivers side and didn't have to bend it at all.

Still debating on the need for a new prop valve, as when there is a good firm pedal, the brakes seem about equal to the old drum setup.

I am thinking of replacing the soft rubber line that goes to the t on the rear axle, as this is where I tightened down the hard steel line the other morning that temporarily resolved my leak.

My experience thus far though with the discs working for a short period of time was that there was little difference in the feel of the brakes. Maybe a new prop. valve will help that. My guess is that I won't feel much difference until I upgrade to 12" rotors in front and match the system with the components I need. (m/c and prop valve)

why put the time/effort and money into a new prop valve.

get an adjustable one from wilwood. then you can really dial those rear brakes in.

My parking brake cables are sitting on the floor of my garage...

I want to do this swap on my ride, but how do I bend the line on my 87? It has the 4WD brakes. Is there a special tool that I will need?

I got a question about the adjustable prop valve how are you gonna find one with the right threads. It would be a pain in the *** to try and reflare them all.

thats what you have to do. i decided against putting one on my car since its by no means a race car, and i didnt want to monkey with it, so i bought a 1le valve for my ls1 around swap. results next week hopefully

Will those brakes work with a 9-bolt as well? Without making custom brackets and all that is.
