e-brake cable removal
How do you get the damn thing loose of the brake backing plates? I'm trying to pull my whole rear-end assembly and this is the only thing holding me back.
I dont understand how those little clasps work.
Anyone got any tips??

I bought a tool, which makes removal much easier. I was told that a zip tie could be secured around the 'prongs' to collapse them (much as the tool would do).

once you get a zip tie around them.....then what? Or...the tool you have...does it cause the prongs to fold in and then slide into the piece below it?

Disc cables? I use needle nose pliers and pinch them in one at a time.

They should be retained the same way...round thing with 3 spring clips around the outside. Pinch them in one at a time and pull out while doing it, that should work.

Oh yeah...make sure you disconnect the end of the cable first, don't know if you thought of that..
