as far as rotor surface area.. and brute stopping power.. ? i have 1LE's with Hawks Ceramic pads.. and LS1 rears..
i use the car for spirited driving in the utah canyons and an occassional open road race every 6 weeks.. so far my 1LE's have been great.. i was wondering if the LS1's are better

What might be better for me might not be better for you. The LS1 calipers appear to be stronger (resist spreading) but at the same time they're heavier and have a different piston bores. This means swapping from 1LE to LS1 would change the balance between the front/rear... maybe for the better... maybe for worse. It's hard to say except I'd personally hold onto the 1LE's if they're working great for you! Why spend $$$ to convert? You might want to price out rotors for your next brake change. I bet the 1LE rotors are getting harder and harder to find. That's when swapping to a newer setup might make more sense.

I don't think you'll see a big difference in the two types of brakes, especially if yours are working great. I love my full 1LE car, stops like crazy.

CTS-V brakes come stock under 18" wheels, but i have no clue about clearances. The rotors are supposedly <14.4". It would be the **** to fit CTS-V brakes but too bad they have 6 lug rotors. You might as well go C6 ZO6 brakes with 5 lugs.

I just need to know the diameter and thickness of the rotor that caliper lives with...I can use a different 5 lug rotor or a two piece rotor to get the size I need, not the Caddy 6 lug parts.
