Seen these brakes

I saw this ebay today. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this kit. I'm not considering it for myself, because I already have lt1 brakes. I was thinking to much pad area, but I just wanted to know what you guys thought.

Brakes

EDIT [info from ad]:
Brand new,,,was assembled & mounted once but in new condition still,FOR 13" rotors that came on zr1,grandsports and HD suspension c4.To answer some of your questions,,yes I have the install sheets and the companys name that made it was AO Engineering from Boca Raton,FL.I will be glad to answer question by email or 352 634 5846. See detail pics to determine the condition for your self.Everything is included,, mounting brackets/ lines/fittings/bolts/new titanium performance pads/4 rebuild calipers/etc. (ROTORS NOT INCLUDED)Nothing else is needed to mount this to you corvette and finaly have world class brakes.I dont think this kit is available anymore,,they are supposed to be the largest brake, surface area, kit available and I have documents that state this is one of the best c4 corvette brake upgrade kits ever designed. Was mounted on 1991 L98 vette. Should fit 88-96 corvettes,,but please do your own homework.

Cleaning out shop spares,,see my other auctions for more items like: COMPLETE FAST DFI SEQUENTIAL FUEL INJECTION SET,sx performance efi fuel pressure regulator,Mallory comp110fi fuel injection pumps, mallory comp 500 fuel filter, holley stealth ran ful inj manifold for sbc, etc. No reserve,,$35 fixed US shipping. Good luck.

I think Bently used dual calipers on some of their huge cars. I would rather spend my money on a caliper like a wilwood or brembo, instead of trying to use 2 PBR calipers. I wonder if having that setup would adversly effect the cooling effeciancy of the rotors also.

There was a Maybach at the Chicago Auto Show that i saw that had dual calipers, but twice the size, here's a picture of it.

Overkill, way too much and you can get great braking with a single Wilwood caliper. It does look cool though, but overkill.

I think this would add too much weight on the wheel assembly. The Maybach is a very heavy car and probably has a redondant brake line setup going to each caliper for safety and keep the pads from overheating when stopping such a heavy vehicle. 2 Claipers disperse the heat buildup on the front brakes. That setup would hurt performance of a Corvette in my opinion.

Not it is not. That is a dual caliper braking system.

The Maybach has huge disc brake rotors at 14.8 inches up front and 14 inches in the back. The Maybach actually has six brake calipers instead of the normal four -- two calipers on each front wheel. The entire braking system is redundant and computer controlled so that the CPU can decide which calipers to activate and how much pressure to apply to each. Computer control also allows special software features to be added. For example, if your foot comes off the accelerator rapidly, the braking system notices. The braking system assumes that, a few milliseconds later, you will be hitting the brakes for a panic stop. So, during those few milliseconds, the computer can move the brake pads into position against the rotors to allow quicker brake activation.
