E-brake Line Locks

has anyone ever tried this or is it even possible? can you make line locks out of your emergency brake? doesnt the e-brake only stop the rear tires so can you change it to hold the front tires?

ok when you apply the emergency brake, it only locks the rear tires right? if thats so couldnt you just fab it up to only lock the front tires, thus making some sort of home made line locks.

Your front calipers don't have mounting points for the e-brake from what I've seen- it's going to be alot more work than buying a $50 line lock. How about you just cut your rear brake lines?

Spend the $50.00 bucks and get a real line lock.

DO NOT CUT THE REAR BRAKE LINES AND DRIVE YOUR CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brakes are not something to mess with if you do not know what your doing. get a book, do some research, and understand what your doing before you mess with your brakes. Brake are probably the most important part on an automibile.

There is lots of information about braking systems and how to modify them.

So that's what you're asking!

Now you've got me worried.... I just hope you don't live too close to me. Like, maybe you're in Zimbabwe or Singapore or some such where. Now I'm going to be afraid to be on the road; whenever I see a thirdgen, I'm going to have to pull over in a parking lot and get behind a telephone pole, in case it's yours.

hahaha not to be mean or anything but thats one of the stupidest ideas ive heard on here. i just wanted to know if it was possible to run the e-brake up front, but if it would just be cheaper and easier to get line locks i will do that.

Not to be mean but I was mocking your incompetence by suggesting you can just cut your rear brake lines because you're basically looking for a cheap way around a common and relatively inexpensive mod.

Re: E-brake Line Locks

I drove my car for about 2 weeks with the rear shoes turned in.
Because the right rear axle seal was leaking, and I didn't want to light the car on fire doing a burnout contest at the dragstrip.
Fixed now, still need to put on the line lock though.
