Front to Rear Brake Line

Is it possible for a 88 rear to fit my 92 without any brake line issues? I know they say there is a differance but I had a shop do mine a while ago and they never mentioned anything about it to me.

Re: Front to Rear Brake Line

the body line and flex hose to the axle are the same. the only differences would depend on what calipers are on the rears, but if you have the lines from the doner rear, you are a good to go provided they are not rotted or course.

Re: Front to Rear Brake Line

this is the issue, I have a 92 RS that had a Drum rear, I broke that axle a while ago... a buddy of mine swapped out my rear for me from an 88 that was also Drum, Now I have a 92 1LE rear with PBRs sitting at home for me to put in. But Im not sure if he needed to mod the lines or not because it will screw me when I go to put in my 92.

By the way...the lines on the donar were in tact and he did use them from what I recall/

Never mind Im a little tired I see what your saying... the bodylines and flex lines are the same connecting to eachouther from the rear?... but they are different Between PBRs and Delcos connection, Ive also heard the prop vales have diffrent connections?? is this correct?

The lines are different on the rear end. The PBR's have flex lines to both calipers, while the Delco-Moraines have one hard line and one flex line to the calipers. The tube nut sizes are different on the 1LE valve. Since you have a 92, you'll need the second design.

Re: Front to Rear Brake Line

There was no change in the brake body lines from that 88 drum rear end going into my 92? correct?

Re: Front to Rear Brake Line

Right: the body side is the same at the rear from 84-92 drum or disc.
