Parking Cables on rear PBR converion

Hoping JamesC is reading this, I know he's got the same setup. I'm finally finishing up this rear PBR conversion on my '85. I have the 1434mm cables, but when I installed the driver side the the parking cable is very taught like its not routed correctly. Does anyone have a picture illustrating the routing?

Re: Parking Cables on rear PBR converion

It doesn't show the PBR set up but if you copy the left side it should work. I also thought the standard routing put tight bends in the cables so I've changed mine to run under the axle. They are loosely wired to the sway bar to stop them sagging. Seems like a more natural routing for the cables.

Both mine are routed over the axle (as on the driver's side). No issues with the 1434 cable.

Re: Parking Cables on rear PBR converion

I didn't really have any issues I just didn't like the tight bend with the over axle routing and I noticed the cables I have are quite worn where they go over the axle.

I used guides.

Sounds like what I'm seeing.

James, How tight are your cables installed? I installed the guides just as you show in the pic James. (Thanks again for the nice writeup!) So it seems foolproof, run the cable through to the guides, but its a bit taught when I ran'em. I checked the length at roughly 1450mm, so I'm not sure where I went wrong. FYI these are LS1 calipers but they should be the same in this regard.

Fairly tight. You could always remove the guides and see what the results are.
