So this happened...

Rear Driver brake was leaking brake fluid... popped it off and....

here's the passenger side for reference...

Does it look like an axle seal popped too? Or just the brake fluid attracted a bunch of crap?
The puddle underneath the drum evaporated so I know its brake fluid... but the amount of crap in the drum concerns me.

Any thoughts before I go spend money on a new cylinder or two?

Re: So this happened...

I would say you seal is leaking also. Replace the seal, clean up the drum, and replace the shoes.

Yeah.
It appears I'm going to need a new cylinder regardless.

Should I do all the seals while I'm at it?

If it was me, I would replace everything that I could. You already have the drums open, and why would you want to do this again in 6 months?

Re: So this happened...

If it was my car it would all get replaced since the cost of most of the parts is low.

Replacing everything but apparently there are metric and US threaded cylinders.

Guess which one I bought!

Re: So this happened...

that new axle seal won't do much good if the bearing wore a groove in the axle and it has too much free play.
