Another Newbie
Hi all
I have been a lurker for quite some time and thought I just might as well post something here
I from Northern Ontario and Last fall I traded my 86 Fiero for an 88 Trans Am. The car is in really nice shape but requires a little TLC to make it nice again
there is 157000 kms I think on it. Automatic, 5.0 ltr, T-Tops, shaved door handles,
right now I'm in the middle of replaceing the flex plate on it (still need to find one)
. So far I fixed the wiper motor, hi/low beam switch, fog lights, door poppers, passanger seat rail and like mentioned before, removed the tranny.
I want to remove the intake and heads to have a look, and then obviously change out the gaskets. I picked up a set of PMD seats for it but they will need restoring. I also need to get a better set of wheels for it.
anyways here's some pics of her adn thanks for the look

Welcome to the site. Looks like you have a bit of work ahead of you. Most parts are still available, just need to keep searching. Good luck with the project.

Re: Another Newbie
So finnaly a little good fortune rolls my way!!!
Thanks to Muskoka 87 GTA, I am now the proud owner of a set of GTA wheels, and some interior pieces.
He a man of his word, and everything arrived as advertised.
to make things more interesting, about 10 years ago, I had purchased some center caps for my 79 Firebird. I wasn't nearly as knowledgeable as I am now and as it turns out I purchased the wrong ones for a second gen bird. fast forward 10 years, I have 4 brand new center caps for a third gen bird...go figure
To further my good fortune, at a reasonable cost, the parts we're delivered to me. It was a great deal and both sides walked away happy!!!
now for some pics:
here's my brand new 10 year old center caps

the rims they will be going on: 245/55/R16

and some other odds and ends to improve my interior

and some wheel nuts until I get the rims reconditioned...theses will do just fine to up and down the road

Re: Another Newbie
Alright, since my last post I got the new flexplate installed and the tranny and associated parts put back on
I put a chrome air cleaner on it
Installed the wheels and center caps
installed the center console, removed it, installed it probably 6 times
Installed the drivers side headlight
Installed the tail lights
And the last thing I did was as a last resort I mounted the passenger seat seat on the driver side until I can get the PMD seats restored
I also tested and temporarily installed the the power seat mechanism
My son and then took the car for a good test drive around the neighborhood and I'm really please with how its running
In the next few days i need to get temporary permit and get it back to my house and shortly after that i want to get the mechanical done on it
Pics to come...i have been finding it hard to get in front of my PC to get all my sites updated
Thanks for looking
