The Clarus line is a fine choice for someone on a bit of a budget.
I used to have a California series amp in my old Z24. I really liked it. So the Clarus chould be good too. They look good that is for sure!

I had a Baja series one, it was yellow. Back in the days with the lumina....

It powered my 2 MTX Terminator 12's pretty well. For the amount I spent on it, with all new components, I'd say it sounded pretty good! It didn't ever overheat like my "majesitc" amp did and sounded a lot better. I still doubt it fully lived up to its RMS ratings but for the money I'd say they make a decent amp. I don't have any complaints about them.

A lot of people may not agree with me, but i think profile is one of the best amps for the money I used a 1200sx on two infinity perfect's and it sounded great. I just bought another 1200sx on ebay brand new for $199. I am powering two 10in ppi's with it. This amp is supposedly about 900x1 rms bridged. the amp itself is large. like almost 2ft long.

I can't believe I'm the first one in here to say this.

Junk

Want bang for the buck? Buy a 60 watt Kicker instead of a 500 watt Profile. Same price, more actual output.

75watts for each 12?? Are you not wanting to get any thump for your money. I had a profile amp a while ago and they are decent. If you are going to get that amp I would suggest running it @ 225 watts x 2 in bridged mode. Then your 12's will atleast move.

what jim is saying is that the kicker is under rated, while the profile is over. not a chance of getting that kinda rating outta the profiles in a normal, real world use of the amp (some ratings are at outrageous voltages or loads). my 75x2 mtx put out tons more power than my (ashamed to admit, but it was my first and only one) 500 watt pyramid. there is a reason why some amps cost more than others. however, if you are looking for a great budget amp, check out ample audio. small company, usa all the way, awesome build quality, low price.

I had a 400 watt Profile California amp in high school. My 60 watt Kicker will pound the **** out of it in every direction imaginable. My 30 watt Pioneer will even **** all over that POS.

Hey man I know what you are saying but listen to this. I had a 4 channel, 800 watt boss amp in my car. I had it bridged to 400x1 for my 15" MTX thunder 3000, and 200x2 for my rear 6x9's. I thought my 15 was loud, and the gain was UP ALL THE WAY. Now heres the cool part. I got a rockford 360a2, and I SWEAR TO ***, I hooked that up to the same 15, and the gain was DOWN ALL THE WAY and it pounded TWICE as hard as the boss amp did. Not to mention, that the bass and sound quality was soooo much better. Now I use that amp with the gain up a quarter of the way, and it slams. Also I put a 200 watt 2 channel pioneer amp to the 6x9's, instead of the "200x2", and the pioneer amp makes them louder and clearer. So like everyone says, you get what you pay for. I thought the boss amp was a good amp, then once I switched, I realized what a good amp really is, and what a difference there is.
