I dont know what you can do to stop rattling, but I am really interested in how you did that box setup. Do you have pictures of your installion process?
It looks really good.

Ya, i have seen that before, the guy was selling it, or sold it, and now you have it? he did some really nice work...ya you could be hiting more db's if it wasnt a ported box
well any way i was just asking how i could stop my bumper from ratil'ing

"take it out"
Ya, you got to be FUC|{ING nuts if you think im going to do that,
i put 8 weeks in to the box and ever thing,
"you can take the subs out"
it would take the rattils out, but no we wouldnt whunt to do that the nabers would like that to much

its not actulay that hard to do...well i cant say that for the back bumbper cause iv never taken that off......actualy are we talkin bout the BUMPER or the groundeffects?? i keep thinkin groundeffects.
where EXACTLY is the noise coming from?
where EXACTLY is the noise coming from? groundeffect/bumper same thing , they dont come apart the bumper and ground effects are one piece , its not that hard to do tho , its like 3 bolts on each side on the inseide of the hatch behind the plastic , the u have the plastic things that u have to pop out.
i know hes got a camaro, i didnt know the way the GFX went on was differant. so y dont you open your ....nevermind.....back to helping a fellow 3rd genner......give us a detaled description of where the problem is coming from

open my what??? im not the one who's trying to tell someone to do something that cant bedone without hacking the ground effects off with a butcher knife , so really you arent gonna be any help to a fellow thirdgenner , now me on other hand , yeah.
gezz my mistake man, chill out some. i made a suggestion, it may have been a bad one for his car, yes. but no need to be a (fill in the blank) about it. a simple "you cant do that on his camaro" would have been fine. now if you would like to stop this nonsence, we might be able to help this guy.
ok i apologize , i just like to argue i guess , we were both wrong i guess , u have a ta i have a camaro , u know the pontiacs and i know the camaros , and u may knwo soem about camaros too , so we can try to help him out.
you're bumper rattles , its gotta be something loose , so like he said put some plastic washers in there or if u want it to last longer use polyurethane. thats all i know to do or just tighten up whats loose then u wont have to undo anything , u just may have to tighten it often.

So, ya the box like i said ever board is custom fit, and the hole thing well not come out it well if you spend a 1hr takeing it a part,
the bumper's skin how do i get that off? pull the tail lites off? and crap?, maybe all put a sound clip up for download so you can all LMAO

the tail lights come put from the inside of the car , same as the rear bumper cover so u may just have to live wiht it unless u wanna go about taking you're box out , tail light are easy to take ou tho , u can do that with only ur hands , they are plastic wing nuts like 5 on each tail light , they are behind the plastic on the hatch
ohh yeah i was j/w how much money did u spend on the materials building you're box and do u have seperate chambers for oyu're subs or are they just one big one.

i too apologize,,...but on with the problem...is the problem coming from the center top of the bumper, center bottom, right top, right bottom? im just trying to isolate EXACTLY where it is. it could just be a loose screw for your bumper, it could be wires from your lights, or your lights.....its a BIG area back there,,, and dont forget, sound travels and can be VERY deceiving

heres a thought and correct me if im wrong...but you might not be hitting that high db cuz you dont have enough air space for your subs they need to BREATHE BROTHER!! i could have 10 subs in my car and a properly breathing system with one ten (well maybe not) could beat me...its all about breathing room....although i could be wrong

hey iroc2nv ,
maybe ur right i dunno , i just know the guy i got them off of said they are supposed to have 1.5 cubic feet of air space , the box has 1.5 cubic airspace per chamber , so im not sure.
also im the guy you talked to last week about the front bumper u have , i have the same one , i should have some pics up soon , also i have the ram air hood too.

Your system looks pretty good. The best I have seen and soory to post it here but it was in my buddies civic. He shows the car. It has datons and hydro the lowrider effect. His box is built into his custom wrap around love seat. 3 12's!! Very nice idea. To count the db's yuou take what one speaker is rated at and add 5 db for every same speaker. That is what I am told. Instead of going with 3-4 speakers, why don't you look into something like 1-2 JL-7's? Another friend of mine has one of those subs and he is afraid to turn up the amp in fear of blowing the rear window!! But like I have said before to each his own.

ok, ya, whatever you dont take 1 subs Db's and for ever other sub add 5 Db's ya, right, if that was true i would be Hiting 106, and not 152.01db so ya, as for my rear window (my 3 subs are 2" a way from hiting it) no it is just not true about blowing a 3rd gen window, there part of the roll cage deal, the window seals would blow before the window would ever think about moving , on top of that the sound just rolls off of the window!!
"im wasnt trying to be an ******* about it"
Pull the rear facia off and line it with Dynamat. But watch those shin beaters you have back there too.
there is no way to tell how many 'db's' you'll hit just by looking at what the sensitivity of a woofer is. Good starting point, but SPL will come down to installation.
Guy this weekend on this board did a 137 with one 8" woofer this last wekeend and won first in his class. there was guys with four 15's doing only 138. So installation and power is key........

I know this isn't what you want to hear but this is how to solve the problem. Like Polecat said, you need to prep the car good before you do the install. You're going a little further than the average setup, so you need to take extra care in the prep and install. You need to remove everything you already did, make sure the rear is sealed and then dynamat. Not only will this ensure no rattles, it will greatly improve the SQ in the car. If you're feeling air comming through the back of the bumper then there is obviously a hole. Not only will this increase the possibility of rattles it will also lower your DB's. Fill that hole, do the Dynamat and you'll be good to go. I would also recommend doing the doors. Do it right from the start and you will have less problems later on.
When I do my install I will be completely gutting my car and Dynamatting everything. Its the best way to ensure really good SQ and tight bass. Right now I'm fixing the window and working on the security. The car is a Black 92 RS B4C. Nothing will be installed untill the handles are shaved, windows are tinted, and alarm installed. My install will consist of a JVC Digifine 2.2 SH707 Mp3 headunit, 3 rockford amps (two 4 channel amps for high's, one 2 channel amp for each sub), Boston Audio Pro Seperates 5 and 1/4" in the kicks (Qform) 6" seperates in the rear (in the 6x9 location with custom mounting plate), and two JL Audio 12w6's subs in the rear (Qform Box). Will also be upgrading all the wires, the battery, and installing a cap. All this will be installed with the addition of the K1 Styling EVO interior. So I'll also be installing a 6.5" LCD screen hooked to a camera mounted in my bumper. I'm going for good SQ and deep low bass over DB's. Most of all I'm aiming for a good clean install.
And whats with demanding help from everyone but then just telling everyone they're stupid when they reply? Thats not very nice .
