As long as your stock wires are intact, there's no real point in replacing them.

I re-wired mine. Its pretty sloppy to re-use stock wire and it *could* sound a fair bit worse than new stuff. If your still planning on getting kickpanels for the front then just use stock wires there, its a pita to rewire the front anyway.
Not hard at all to wire the rears up. You can even run the speaker wire with the head unit to amp RCA cables if you feel like it. Try to keep both away from the power cable though. Dont worry about taking out the old wire out. Just snip and disconect it at both ends because its run through the wiring harness... Later

if you do replace it, replace it with a thicker gauge wire. Helps with noise/crosstalk/ ect.

head to radio shack, wal-mart etc and just pick up the cheapest 16ga you can find. All wires are created equal. The ones with 'Monster' or whatever other name brand written on them are no better.

Another option you could do is go to Lowes or another store like it and buy cable like what lamps use. Its usually 16ga, some even 14ga i think.

Ummmmm..... NO

Now i'm no big fan of Monster Cable and all of their overpriced products, but there IS a difference in speaker wire. For one thing the composition of the wire (how much is copper, silver, whatnot) has a lot to do with signal power loss, not to mention that one of the reasons that monster cable is so expensive isn't the wire itself, but the shielding and insulation that goes around the wire. Run a crappy wire anywhere near a power wire and you're most likely going to have some sort of interference problem, run a better wire with good shielding and the interference will most likely be diminished.
Just thought I'd chime in with my .02 on the issue

Definitely replace it, old wire is crap, spend some money and buy the best wire, you get what you pay for. With cheap (or stock) wire you'll still hear a little hiss in the dead spots of your music, but if you replace it with some top of the line wire, it will probably become almost silent if not silent. Rockford Fosgate has excellent speaker wire if you wanna look that direction.

Were talking speaker wire here, they don't have shields, I won't even bring in the fact that a shield for cabling in the car is actually an antenna, thats a whole other issue.

Signal power loss is a non-issue when you use the correct gauge wire, thats why you use the correct gauge wire. You can make them out of copper or silver you won't hear a difference.

i'm gonna have to agree with mss. speaker wire will not change the sound of anything. however, the stuff you've got now may be on the small side and wouldnt hurt to upgrade. monster cable is a waste of money too you are not running a long enough distance where signal loss is even a thought. and yes, do keep speaker and rca cables away from power as a precaution.
