what amp would you recoomened
Since nobody could answer my question last time I thought I would post it again,
I have my stock 4x6's and my Kenwood 6x9's I am getting 2 10's (but I might be getting 2 12's soon) and I need an amp that will work with 2 10's but will be able to transfer to 2 12s too... what amp would you all recommened ? ? ?
I wouldn't mind if the amp could power my 6x9's and my 10's only, I don't Mind the 4x6's becauase I feel they don't need to be amped, so I was wondering what kind of amp would I need and how many channels?
And the price 4 it too...
Also can someone show me how to hook up the amp because I have no clue? !

make sure your CD player has RCA jacks on the back. For this example, you need a total of 4 RCA jacks.
ok, your 4x6's and your 6x9's can be hooked to the same amp. I would recommend around between a 300-400 watt amp, since you have kenwood 6x9's then a kenwood amp would be nice to match with it.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1393607860
that would be a good amp for your full-range-speakers.
to connect your amp, run a power wire to your battery (for that amp, a 12 or 8 gauge wire would work good. use the same size ground wires) about 12-18 inches from your battery, install an Inline Fuse.
http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/ezcom...ze.asp?key=236
^^ theres the fuse.
http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/ezcom...ze.asp?key=160
^^ theres your fuse holder.
if you don't have a hole in your firewall, you'll have to drill one. make sure you seal up the hole after you run the wires in it, so water doesn't get in.
then run the power wire to the rear of the car.
ground out the amp, if you plan on mounting it so it won't move around, good. You can ground your amp above the wheel wells under the side-panels in the back.
next, run your 6x9 wires and your 4x6 wires to the back, plug them into the amp. Do not run the power wires and the speaker wires next to eachother, they can cross eachother but thats it. Noise and interference will get into your speaker wires. Run the RCA cables (they can run along side the speaker wires as far as i know) to the cd-player, plug them in. If you don't know how to tune up your amp and deck, take your car to an audio-shop and ask them to help you with that.
The subs...
run another power wire, with a fuse.. run the power wires along side eachother.
at the end of your power wire, put on a Power-Cap.
http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/ezcom...ze.asp?key=203
^^ theres what they look like.
I have one per amp per sub. if you only run 1 amp for 2 subs, you only need 1 power cap.
To install the power cap, its just like the fuse. Connect the power wires to the same screw on top of the Cap (one wire from the battery, the 2nd wire to the amp), and connect a ground wire to the 2nd screw on the Cap. Run your remote wire to it to turn it on and off. The same remote wire can be spliced off the one for your amps that comes from your deck.
Now the subs and box. Get a box. Depending on the subs you get, you will need a more powerful amp for them.
run the RCA cables for the subs.. also plug in the back of the deck.
anyways, thats all i know

hmm kinda confusing but I think I know what I will need now...
-A CD player with 4 RCA jacks
- KENWOOD KAC-649S 4 CHANNEL AMP 320W
-2 12 or 8 gauge wire
-A RP7560 Fuse
-A CPPFH4 Fuse Holder
- RCA cables ??? (not sure of what they are)
- Another 2 12 or 8 gauge wires
-CPCM10 Power cap (not sure of what you mean on how to install, A diagram would help)
-remote wire ??? (not sure of what this is)
- A sub plate (thats what I am going to use...)
- Another Amp for my Subs (How many watts do I need to power two 12's? )
Is this all I need? ? ? or is there more? ? ?
Also how much would all of this cost me canadian?
And Can you go into alittle more detail on how I install the Fuses n **** like that?

I prefer having a seperate monoblock amp for the subs and a seperate amp for the speakers. Instead of running the 6x9's and 10's off one amp like you were saying, itd be better to go with the 2 amp setup.
Well it depends, if your amping your speakers your going to want a 4 channel amp. Depending on what the wattage of your speakers is. Normally a 400 watt 4 channel should be fine, and is very easy to hook up. Then for the subs depending on what RMS they are, look for something between 300 and 600.
My freind is running 200 kenwood excelon subs and amps in his truck and it really slams. I was rather impressed when i heard it the other day. You might want to look into those if your going all kenwood.
Check out Diamonds site as well definitly some good subs

Also if you need any more install tips jl audio has them on there site. They also make really good setups for good prices so check em out.

RCA cables are what connect your headunti to your amp. They run from the back of the headunit into a jack on the amp,
The remote turn on wire tells the amps when to turn on. Its a very small wire and is connected to the rca cables...so when you buy rca's the remote turn on wires are there.
Hope this helps ya

yes, i agree.
i have 3 amps for my system. my cousin's have 4 on theirs.
i would not recommend running the subs and full range speakers together on the same amp.
heres the best i could draw for a diagram.

good question. Im not even sure of the brand name. But i do have them. Ill post pictures of it later today. Both my sets have it like that. i dont have the remotre wire connected because me headunit has a different way of oding it. but its got the rca cabels then connected between them is the remote wire. I just assumed they all had that since mine do. I got them at a store on market street in philly called stereo sound.

Rockford makes the rca's with the power wire also.
While your at it, pick up a RF 800.4

It is a Rockford Fosgate amp. I would assume a 800 watt 4 channel, but I may be wrong. Also, I know monster cable makes, or at least did, RCA cables with the turn on lead because I have some in my car.
