My system wiring setup, just checkin to see if its correct.
Hey guys,
Here is my wiring setup, I figured I'd post it on here just to make sure that it will not interfere with any other electrical systems in my car and that it is sound and quality, here goes:
A four guage power wire on the positive battery post (via a GM adapter from best buy) which goes into an inline fuse about a foot after the battery, then goes into the fender and into the car through a hole behind the drivers door (its where the power windows boot would go, but i have manual windows), then it goes under the rug, through the back of the car to where the trunk glove box is, I then put my distribution block in there with one fuse only and an empty opening for if i want to add an amp. i will then go out of the distribution block with an 8 guage wire to my capacitor, which will then go through the opening in the trunk where the light would be, and into my amp. For the negative, I put a four guage wire onto a bolt for my bumper cover underneath the trunk glove box. this four guage wire will go into an unfused 4 way 8 guage distribution block and one will go into the capacitor, and another 8 guage will go into my amp. I will duct tape the crap out of my capacitor terminals because it will be underneath my glove box in the trunk to make sure that it doesnt short. Sound good enough? I know my speaker wire and rca's are good, they are on the other side of the car (pass), so i am just curious about the power wires, thanks.

Sounds good except one part... the duct tape.
Duct tape has metallic qualities and can (and will) conduct electricity. I work with HVAC, so I know what you should and shouldn't use duct tape for. If there is some way to mount the capacitor, you'll be much better off.
If you still want to cover it, there's no substitute for electrical tape (the black stuff). Use it.
Other than that, it sounds good.

Man, I am an idiot. I meant to say electrical tape, I lost the mounting bracket for the capacitor so I'll just hide it under the cardboard box, with a lot of electrical tape, I mean alot, I'll wedge it in

good start with the proper wire but one thing bothers me is that the power wire going throw the door thats one sharp bent for it to take.Your going to have build up the will power to drill through your firewall and put a gourment on it don't worry about being scared i use to be now it's like give me the drill.Just cheak both side about ten times before you drill to make sure your not going to hit nothing then poke a hope
I have a problem with electrical tape holding your cap in place. What size cap is it? A 1Farad cap is not exactly weightless. The tape is good for preventing shorts but I don't know about holding the cap down. Beside becoming very messing, when electrical tape heats up, it becomes gummy and looses some adhesion. Its going to get pretty hot back there especially without ventilation. Since no one is going to see it, I think you should go to the hardware store and buy one of those metal straps that has predrilled holes down the length of it and use it to mount your cap down.

My system installation is in limbo right now because of this capacitor, not to mention my trunk leak that I must fix prior to installation. Anyone know how to fix a bumper flange leak?
Tagging Along..
Why is it that a power distribution block has only 2 outputs, and a ground dist. block has 4 outputs?
Seems like you're wasting two since you wouldn't have a complete circuit..

You can buy distribution blocks with however many terminals you want. I've seen them as high as 1-in/6-out.
And when talking about a ground dist. block, it's normally 4-in/1-out
Did you buy a kit that came with one of each, and that's what you got with it?
