I HAVE A 89 GTA AND THE RADIO SAYS LOC AND IT WILL NOT WORK . WHAT DO I NEED TO MAKE IT WORK . I DO NOT WANT TO GO AFTERMARKET BECAUSE OF THE CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL . THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED 2ND HAND AND I DO NOT HAVE NO OWNERS MANUAL WITH IT . ANY IDEAS THANK YOU 1MIKIEMIKE .

 

 

If it's anything like the radios over here in the UK, it may have an anti-theft feature which requires you to enter a code after it has been disconnected from a constant live source, for example a flat or replaced battery. If this is the case, you should be able to take it to a GM / Pontiac dealer and get it de-coded.

Do a search fot Delco Loc.I put up a post on how to get the radio unlocked if it is.There is a web address you can go to.If you cant find it,let me know and i'll email ya the info.

I had the same problem. Push the mute button on the steering wheel controls and it will unlock.

What if you put this '89 radio which was in a car with steering wheel controls is put in a earlier model car without steering wheel controls ? Any way to unlock the radio then ? Thanks,
