cd player muted itself
Hey guys, I've a pioneer deck in my '86 Camaro, and I had just gotten done doing somework to it, and I took it out with a friend of mine, and we were listening to some tunes, and it just muted itself. I can't seem to find an unmute button on my remote or the face, and I can't access the audio button either, does anyone have a clue whats wrong with my cd player?

I'm at college right now and the cars at home so I can't look up the model number, but I do know that it has an organic display, the one with all the little movie things. It say MUTE and when I try to move the volume up or down, it still says MUTE. When I press the Audio button on either my remote or face, nothing happens.

Need the model number for more info. Off the top of my head I would say look for a Cell Mute input on the back of the radio. Most Pioneers don't have a mute button.

Ok, I wen't to pioneer's website, and I looked at all of the models, and this one looked like it, it might even be it, not too sure, I haven't started at the deck much since i got it. but the model number i looked at was DEH-P7500MP.

****, it can't be a crossed speaker wire, I never touched the speakers it worked fine before I put my new shifter in, and I had to pull out the stereo to get a little more slack from my neutral safety switch, so I think I messed something up in the back of the cd player itself, so when I go home this weekend, Im gonna go and take a look, thanks for everybody's help on the subject, I just can't cruise with out my tunes

I don't think It's going to be a crossed speaker wire. A pioneer wouldn't say "MUTE" if a speaker wire is crossed but it will have no audio output, like it was muted. Depending on the model I think you've got a cell mute problem. On the newer Pioneers (DEH-P6400 and DEH-P7500mp) the cell mute lead is yellow with a black stripe. This wire should not be used. Tape it up.
