Single 12" Sub

I currently have 2 6x9 speakers in boxes in my rear tire well and an amp. I want to put a single 12" sub in between the speakers.

What type of box with fit a single 12" sub in the tire well and still leave room for the 6x9 boxes? Let me know.

Thanks,
Ross

Could always custom make one so it looks good. I don't why a 12 and a 6x9 on each side would be a problem. Why are the 6x9s in the hatch and not in the sides where they are stock?

They sound like crap in the sail pannels. They sound amazing in the hatch.

Kickpanels sound better.

Unless you close off box that the 12" is in from the 6x9's, the 12" will send the 6x9's through the hatch into the front seat of the car behind you.

The pressure that the 12 will make in the box will damage the 6x9's cone. Plus with a 12 in the back you won't really notice the lower end response from your 6x9s.

Really? Even though the 6x9's and the 12" will be in seperate boxes? I may just move the 6x9 onto the shelf behind the backseat.

Well I just assumed it would be in seperate boxes... Most people know that even subs of the same type need to be seperated.

I agree though, a sub will drown out the 6x9s a little bit (You can barely hear my 4x6's or 6x9's now with my subs).

Ill figure out the speaker placement, i just need to know what kind of box to buy and or build. I assume building a sinle 12" enclosure is easier than a custom fitting dual 12"

Should be... with 1 12" I'm guessing you can probably place it in the lower part of the well... unless you have one that needs crazy air space, then you would have counter for that.

Try doing a search. I would consider doing a hatch well box and just modding it for the air space you need.
