Parking Lot Subs

Hey again all, I need some advice, from someone whos probably owned or heard hundreds of sub/amp combos.

I need an amp/sub that I can use my current altenator with (105 amp) and be run on 4 gage wires.

I want to use my existing head unit, Pioneer DEH-1500.

My question is: The box I will have will either be flush with the back, or angled up towards the back. I need a sub/amp that won't draw me too much attention, but if I'm just chatting with my friends, I can turn it on and somewhat impress them.

I will definitly have some 4x6 in the front, and maybe some 6'9 to fit the rear, but I'm not looking to win any sound comps or anything even close to that. I just want a good clear sound, with enuf bass that I can actually feel it.

Not looking to spend a lot of money, Currently I have 2 JL 12's and a Kenwood 350watt amp. So thats what I'm used to.

Thanks in advance people

well after I spent more money on a better head unit I got alot better clarity. Also amped speakers will always be more clear.

As far as a system. Dont waste your money on lightning audio or anything. Ive got sony 1000 watt amp and 2 12s. theyre about 350 rms. Sounds pretty good. As you said also Im not looking to win any comps either.

Some ppl say sony sux but frankly Im very pleased for what Ive paid and the wattage it puts out continuously.

As for not attracting attention. Id advise if you dont have a tarp for the rear hatch Id get one. Unless it's tinted..Even better! Id also say when your in the city/neighborhoods to turn it down. With some moderate head units you can turn off the subs completly or turn em down.

either turn it down near your house or tint the rear window, a tarp is like a huge sign saying"i have a system hidding in here"

No No No by tarp I mean the stock tarp that rolls like a window shade. If you look in your hatch youll see where it used to be. Its black and looks like a window shade. My hatch isnt visable with it at all. It covers the entire hatch and rolls up when you lift the hatch. You might be able to find it at a junkyard. If need be I can take a picture of it.

I wasnt saying go buy a blue tarp and stick it inside your hatch. Of course that will attract attention. Why is it almost nobody has these like I do?????

Ive seen someone put a blanket over their subs before. Thats not obvious...really LOL Its pretty common sense that there was that black roll down if you look at the hatch. I say spend the 20.00 and buy it. hehe

You could also add a switch inline with the remote turnon wire for the sub amp, and wahlah, your subs are on or off at the flick of the switch.

yes and no, im not too worried about price. I'm not looking for a huge sound anyway, so dont offer me thousands of dollars for amps/subs

I got a Kenwood 350 watt amp for $150, and 2 used VR 12's in a ported box for another $150.

So im not too worried, but if possible I'd like to keep it to $500 US. How's that
