Just got an amazing lot of car audio stuff... any good?

I bought all this stuff off a guy today for $150; he said he grew out of it

(2) Audison LR 180 XR amps with manuals
(2) Alpine 3522 amps
Alpine 3312 equalizer
SoundStream SX1 crossover with tons of resistors for crossover points
Pair of Boston Acoustic components, 5.25" 850LF, tweeters, with 851X crossover networks
(2) 12" Kicker C12A subs
Dual 12" sub box by Kicker

I don't really know too much about car audio stuff... so, did I get ripped off? Is this stuff any good?

audison amps are really good...but you have to think if people keep buying stolen equipment there will continue to be a market for it and your stuff will soon get stolen.

Heh, that's kinda what I was thinking too. Unless he's an extremely good friend or just won the lottery, I can't imagine anyone parting with that sort of equipment for $150.

If you still know where this guy is, I'd just give all that equipment to the cops and point them in his direction. One less ******* to break into our cars.

He said he bought it all about 6 years ago (internet shows that most this is that old) and it's been sitting in his garage... and it sure is dusty!

I don't think it's stolen, I think it's just a case of I don't want it anymore and it's old so it can't be worth much anymore.

Also, it was in the WantAd (New England guys know what I mean) and you would have to be really dumb to sell stolen stuff thru there!

heh well I guess I spoke too soon.

Have you tested any of it yet to see if it still works? Should end up with a pretty nice system if it does.

Well, I tried all the stuff and it seems fine... but I wouldn't know where to start if I used any of it!

I don't know the specs of the amps (and can't seem to find them), the max power of the subs, the wiring of the equalizer... etc. etc.

Think the Alpine amps would be good for the front and back speakers? (one for front, one for back)

you should use the most channel amp for the front and rear. you definitely need to use the other amp to power the subs or you get no boom juice......i knew little about car audio except what i wanted until i searched online.... look it up at places like www.sounddomain.com and google to find out what u wanna know.

Oh, the kickers are going in my van. I already have a system in the iroc for subs, I just didn't know if these Alpines would power my Polk interiors ok or not.

I have dual Kenwood 929s amps, and Audiobahn AW1200Q's.

The 2 Audison amps are going to my 2 Kicker c12a subs in my van... I think.

thats an opinion besides if you can hear the difference in amps of the same wattage you need to get a more productive life.... speakers make a difference most of the time.

someone read a bit too much into my post. i said higher quality amplifier, not better sounding. the build quality of audison is much better than that of audiobahn. i can see an audison working 10 years from now without a glitch; i cant say the same for audiobahn.
