OT: Cadiallc radio help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK so my mom asked my to put a radio in her cadillac today. I abught all the good stuff like the wiring harness so you don't have to splice the factory harness. My problem is none of the wires are matching up to what they say they are. If I put the ACC to the power, the antenna goes down.

What I need is the wiring schematics for a 1992 cadillac sedan deville. I went and baught the haynes manual and it doesn't have it. If anyone can get me a diagram it will be greatly appreciated so I can get it over with.

Hello XJOSHX,
Granted it isn't thirdgen related, it is a legitimate question so I am going to move it over to the car audio forum where you might get a few more answers to your problem.

OK, sorry about posting it in electronics. I made sure I added the off topic to the title. I am jsut really in a bind and it seems like there are more tech oriented people on here than any other palce I have seen.

Does the harness you bought to plug into the car actually plug in?

If I put the ACC to the power, the antenna goes down.
What color to what color??

I'll try to help if you give some info.....

http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs/GM/Eldorado.html should have what you're looking for (evidently your mom's car and the eldorado have the same wiring). If you check out the 6th page of the PDF, you can find factory wiring.

not wired correctly, but for some odd reason everything is working properly. Shuts off when you open the door of the car and all.
