You can make a box that will still allow you to strap the t-tops down........i have a box holds 3 tens........... it sits below the hooks so you can still hook the t-tops.....

Here are the pics...........

I'm building an amp rack that holds the t-tops, and sinking 2 12's in the well. I'm going to have 10 times the wireing mess (3 amps) but it'll all be displayed. Actually the sub box is done, and i have about 3 hours ledt in carpeting the amp rack, and tweaking it a bit.

heres a couple pics. the subs are brand new i havent even screwed them down yet. im getting a new amp as well its on the way.. it is a profile 2000 watt. it does 980 watts rms bridged. i also threw a pic in of the t-top bag i just mounted the original hook things on the box granted the tops arent in the bag but you get the idea. i just dont play the subs loud at all with the bag on there. i should get grills but i dont take the tops off much at all.

hey matt..

hey love that sub box with the single 10.. thats exactly what im trying to do except with a 12. see i have an infinity reference series sub that i was running inside a q logic box in the back of a neon and it was perfect for me..every piece of plastic in the car would shake like a french soldier with it pumped up. i think the sub is a 1030 or something..got it at circuit city like 2 years ago or something. but the thing is on the infinity website it says the sub should be in a box with 1.25 cu ft of volume. the q logic box only had 1 cu ft but it still sounded awesome. so i guess my question is how many cu ft of airspace does your box have, and do you think i could adapt your design to the 12? how do you expect that it would sound if i had my sub in your setup do you think it would be similar or completely different? the q logic was in the neon with the sub pointing towards the back of the car. i really like this sub and the amp i had driving it and would like to adapt them to my camaro i just got but i cant put that big ole box in there like that it would look terrible. let me know what you guys think!

my setup is at .85 ft^3 right now....but i blocked off the box so to that volume so it could be larger.....as far as mounting a 12" sub...i would think that it would fit because IIRC the top face is 13" wide or something like that....

you can put polyfil in the box to trick the sub into thinking the box is bigger which will allow it to play lower notes. IIRC you are supposed to use like 1 lb of fil per cu ft. but idk exactly what it is i cant remember. make sure you get fire resistant polyfil though. and you can get a bag of the stuff at walmart for less than 5 bucks.

That's actually factory, or at least it's an option. Don't know if he did that or it came like that. My 87 IROC had the factory option for it also. I forget what the RPO code is offhand.
