no sound
no sound
installed my old system out of my 96 into my 89 formulanow i get no sound throught my rca wires i have two amps 1 a 4-channel for mids and highs and 1 bass amp. ican hookup a speaker to the speaker outputs on the radio and get sound but none out of the amps. i tried 2 different sets of rca wires still nothing but when i move the wires around i get a little fuz but only for a second so what to do now???

What kind of headunit? does it have a mute option? possibly accidentally wired the cellphone mute option? it will be hard to tell without seeing it.

So it's the RCA fuse? That has to be professionally serviced...
or you could just use a nice littl' work around (with sneaky bri-ish accent)
just get a wire, attach one end to the chassis of your headunit somewhere, (a ground,) and the other end needs to touch ONE (or all, it makes no difference,) of the OUTSIDE metal parts of the rca... so the easiest way to do this is to just un-connect the RCA and stick part of the wire in there, then jam it back on... don't let the wire touch to the inside metal tip, because that's your actual signal, not the ground...
good luck, but if you're having the problem I think you are, this should solve it for nearly free...

The old Pioneer 1.5 DIN units had problems with bad solder connections at the RCA jacks. Technically an open, not a short
