kick panels - who makes them

Does anyone here still make these other than Jim? Jim is currently not taking orders and I really need a set, and I dont have the know how or desire to build them myself.

Q-logic is really your only other bet unless you were to try to bribe someone else on the board to make a set for you. It's really not that hard to do and could probably be done within an afternoon's work. I am running Jim's kicks but I also built a completely fiberglass well box. I bought the kicks out of laziness but I honestly don't see anything that difficult about the process.

In a nut shell:
1 - cut MDF rings for woofer and tweeter
2 - aim the speakers (attach ring to kick pannel with some flexable metal)
3 - stretch fleece over whole kick panel
4 - apply resin
5 - add a layer or two of mat/cloth on top of that
6 - do some quick sanding
7 - finish with paint, carpet, etc

There's a lot more to it than that.

For the most part Gummie is right though. It's not beyond the realm of a "DIY" project if you've got the patience to get through it the first time. One of the harder aspects to the project is experimenting with driver positioning, which can take forever, and then figuring a way to attach your fiberglass piece to the stock kick panel, unless you want to replace the entire piece, which I never felt looked right.

Since there seems to be a lot of interest again, I'll see if I can't get a few pieces started over the next couple weeks for those who have been waiting. I finally got my workshop cleaned over the weekend, so once I get a workbench built I should be able to get started.

That would be great, I really wanted to order one of your sets but when you told me that it was probably going to be another couple of months before you start producing them again is when I started to look for other options. But if your almost ready to start producing them again then I think I can wait because I would much rather have one of your sets.

my system is all in the explorer now so i no longer have any use for my fiberglass kicks. they have holes cut for a 6.5 mid and a tweet, rezn8r made them about a year ago. 100 shipped if you're interested. if you want some pics, just shoot me a pm and i'll get some for you.
