It is getting more difficult to find the first generation stock GM CD player/radios that work. Plus they have difficulty or won't play burnt CD's at all. And, well, forget about MP3 and other newer formats.

Just a heads up.

If your looking for 'performance' go aftermarket.

It doesnt take a brain surgeon to wire up a deck, if you have any problems just ask here!

After going from many stock decks to aftermarket i would never use a stock deck again. Even if it was just for the bling, its worth the 5min of wiring!

84z28350 is soo right, i have a black 88 trans am, and i just installed a new deck today. It did need a mounting kit and i used a wiring harness (about $30 for all the required hardware), but it looks good actually great (and I'm a very picky individual) and i'm still maintaining that stock look because the aftermarket deck can change its graphics and buttons color to amber, to match the gauge theme color. I'll post a few pics tomorrow.
