well im not a total newbie but yea... i need some help.. i just plan on right now getting 2 4x6's and 2 6x9's with an amp to power them.... then eventually ill go to the subs.. i want good sounding quality and i have the money to spend.. but dont wanna blow it all at once ya know? i had polk audio momo and db's before... i blew them cuz of static at a car wash
dont know whats good anymore i have had these for a lonnggg time lol...
i know ill need a 4 channel amp thats like 300 watts from what i got by my research... and as far as the brand of amp kicker seems to be the favorite by everyone.. so i guessi just need a hand with pickin out the right kicker amp + right speakers... thanks

I prefer Rockford Fosgate and Alpine over anything else... Just better quality I think. 2cents

I listened to alot of speakers before buying mine, I chose a pair of JL Audio 4x6's and a pair of MBQuart 6x9's. The sound is very rich with killer midbass response, very tight and pure sound at any volume level. I am running a Crossfire 400 watt 4 channel amp. A Kicker or JL Audio amp would suit your needs perfectly, tho personally I would lean toward the JL.
Let us know what you chose. good luck.

ide say gow itha jl or diamond amp depending on what your budget is. what do you plan on spending....also rember that you pay what your get for...if you buy a cheap $100 amp your not getting something as good as a $400 amp

well different brands are better at different things. for instance i would go wiht a Rockford Amplifier than a kicker or alpine. rockford is known for producing all the watts plus more than they say at quality sound

Tourville,
It all comes down to what sounds good to your ear as you are the one who has to live with it. Listen to the speakers and don't just rely on what others say. I used to compete in IASCA so I know what I'm talking about. Not bragging but my car was a Canadian champion! I suggest you try to go with round speakers and stay away from the oval ones. YOu can find round speaker combo's that fit in the stock locations or make a template out of MDF wood to fit. As for amps you cannot go wrong with the Rockford. As for speakers you have several options. A suggestion would be to put Q-forms pods in the front kick panel. They can fit a 5 1/4" and 1" combo. Or put speakers in the door. Stay away from speakers in the dash if you want to add to the system later. The sound bounces off the windshield and can distort. My first set up have speakers in the dash and I switched to the doors. Also you can put 8" subs where you have the 6 x 9's and leave the trunk space open. As for subs remember that 10" hit harder and 12" hit lower. There is a difference depending on what musci you like. You can find premade sub boxes on ebay for you can for $ 50 or so. Remember listen to the speakers and think about what you want to do next so you don't waste your hard earned $$$$$. Good luck.
