Re: what type of amp?

http://www.techronics.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=3803

wire it to a 1 ohm load ,

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/support_pages.php?page_id=161

2 DVC drivers with Voice Coils in Parallel / Parallel

thats if you have 4 dual voice coil subs not 2 DVC

for a tye of amp you want a mono D amp that can do 1000-1500/1600 RMS into 1 ohm , that way each speaker will be getting just over there max rms setting which shouldnt hurt them just dont go crazy with them first sat your gains just a tib bit lower which you shouldnt even need to do

good SPL sub them l7's make sure you got them in a nice ported box

Re: what type of amp?

memphis, us amps, kicker amps.. just get an amp thats a little over the rms rating of the subs at whatever ohm you are going to run them at

Re: what type of amp?

Older USAmps, older Orion, JL Audio and Rockford PowerSeries are good IMO. You want to look first at how they are to be wired. Looking at what you have, probably gonna need an amp thats 2ohm stable mono or bridged. So youll be looking for a MONO amp as already mentioned. Now look at the RMP power rating. Pay no attention to the PEAK power listing. Thats not a true rating and its not industry regulated. You will want to match at least by the RMS rating on the subs or get a slightly bigger amp than that so you can be conservative on the gain. Also, most amps of this magnatude, if they are true, will need at least a 4ga cable for power and ground. Most of them will have a large terminal set on the side to accomidate this. And dont get a 4 ga power kit that splits off to 2 8ga wires. If you plan on multiple amps, get seperate power kits or a 1/0ga to 2 4ga. Sub amps require alot of current flow when being jammed on. Thats just the nature of powering the speakers large motor structure and the effort taken to reproduce the lower frequencies. Good luck in your quest and dont skimp on the power kit or RCAs.
