Re: single sub box?

that's something that would need to be custom manufactured. if you did have one made, you would need to make sure that it wouldn't slide around in there.

Infinity makes a pretty decent amplified one. Look for it on Crutchfield and then find it cheaper somewhere else. Its pretty neat and sounds nothing short of damned decent.
You could also have a bass tube back there and keep 1/2 of your vertical space. Here is my setup

Re: single sub box?

Unfortunately no one makes a single box for the 3rd gen. You will have to have one custom made....or make one yourself to match the specs of the sub.

Re: single sub box?

You could always consider getting a pre-made box for 2 10"s or 12", cut it in half, and put on a new wall.

Do the same to the other side, and sell that one off. I'd do that, but I have a Bazooka tube (granted, it's not the best, and can sound a bit muddy, but it came with the car), so I'm not going to go buy a new speaker & an amp.

Re: single sub box?

this is the one i made for my single type-r. i wanted to only use the bottom half of the well so that i could cover everything if i wanted to and also be able to use the stock t-top bag. took a few tries to get everything to fit right, but this box fit almost perfect and had just enough airspace for sub. too bad it got ruined because the hatch was leaking

Re: single sub box?

If you're building a sub box, you have to know exactly how to do it. If you make the box wrong, the sub can actually sound horrible. I have an MTX 10" Sub, that came with the box, and it fits right in the corner of the "storage" area, and just faces the left side. Sounds just fine, though I might end up moving it to face up.
