Yeah its probally just a loose wire and off and oning on bumps. I had this problem and mine was actually a battery cable, but if it worked ok before im betting on a bad connection or loose wire.

well soldering isnt quite necessary , although it would def. get the job done. but yes, if your previous radio worked fine, and now the one you just installed is cutting out, then its simply a bad connection( i suppose you radio could be bad but lets assume its fine). I would guess its either the power wire or the one that tells your radio to turn on/off when you turn your car on/off.
Re: radio keeps turning off and on continuisly while driving
This is probably not your problem, but I'll throw it out there.
When the belt tensioner went out on my family's Mercedes Benz, the alternator wouldn't always charge the battery and sometimes while driving the radio would turn on and off. When the tensioner was replaced the problem went away.
Again, probably not your problem, just throwing it out there. Maybe something to do with the charging system, but if it checks out, then I'd agree with the other posts. Loose connections.

Re: radio keeps turning off and on continuisly while driving
Also probably not your problem, but when mine did that it was because the power wire came loose from the mount and was grounding to the headers on bumps after the insulation melted.
Re: radio keeps turning off and on continuisly while driving
If the radio gets hot they tend to shut off I had the same problem and I research for days until I found the solution I tried a computer fan at the back and install it to the radio .The cooling system on the radios are very bad trust me so as soon as it get a little hot it shuts off on your drive and it can be very annoying I know
