Re: power antenna

remove the passenger side cover and locate the wires going to the power antenna (white, green, gray) to see if they have bin cut.

Re: power antenna

i took the antenna out far enough to see the wires (on the backside of course) and was able to strip them and hook them back up. BUT when i had the green and white wires that go into the car stripped they touched the fender and put on a little show (sparks! (the key was off)). now i don't have any power AT ALL to my radio.. i checked the fuse under the dash as well as the in line fuses for the radio and all is well.. any ideas as to what i screwed up now?? it's been one of those days where i try to fix something only to break something else!

Re: power antenna

Follow the yellow and red wires from the back of the radio, and look for a fuse holder like this:

And see if it's popped.

Re: power antenna

ok.. i feel stupid. i had checked all of the in-line fuses and the fuse labeled "radio" in the fuse block and all checked out. today i checked the rest of the fuses and the one marked "accessory" was blown.. i replaced it and my radio works! BUT with the antenna hooked up the motor would just run and run.. would that be a screwed up motor or is the cable that runs it broken?
