Unplug the RCA's from the amp, see if you still have the noise...

If no, check for nicks or reroute them...

If yes, check grounds on all equipment...

You're supposed to run them away from each other...

Re: Help me figure out whats wrong with my system?

possible problems:

1. head unit may be going bad because that may be alternator whine. The head unit is supposed to 'dampen' or not allow that power sound to go into your audio

2. if head unit good, everything else is fine, you may have the ground too close to your power source

no matter what the cause its definitely alternator whine, raw electricity is getting into your sound output.

also, along with what these guys said, make sure that there is no paint on the ground screw/area as well. take a flathead screwdriver and really get the paint off the area you are grounding to. but its definitely a grounding issue.

Did you do this yet?
This test really helps narrow down where the engine noise is coming in at.

Re: Help me figure out whats wrong with my system?

toxik you HAVE to move the RCA's away from that power wire. I can almost guarantee you that is your problem. If not you have a bad ground somewhere.

Re-route the RCA's before continuing to look for an easier fix.

Re: Help me figure out whats wrong with my system?

Definetly reroute the rca's on the opposite side of your power wire first. If it still makes noise it shouldnt be nearly as bad. Then one at a time unplug each rca from the amps while the car is running and really isolate which rca is picking up the noise. If you cant narrow it down to just a single rca that may be nicked then you have a ground issue from either bad amp to ground, radio to ground, bad motor to ground or battery to ground..or..all of the above depending on the shape of the car entirely. Here is the quick tests we do at my shop.Cut a piece of trigger wire about 15ft long.Slide the radio out so you can access the rear of the radio.Start the car and turn the volume right down so you can truly hear the engine noise. Now strip both ends of the wire you just made. With your system on and completly wired up as you have it..touch one end of the wire to the chassis of the radio and hold it there, touch the other end of the wire to the outer metal contact of one of the rca's plugged into the 4channel amp. This will either make the noise worse..or go away.Try that and let us know,it will answer a few questions I have.

Also, cheap RCA's that have no nicks and look perfectly good can be bad and cause problems too...

Re: Help me figure out whats wrong with my system?

I know you probably fixed it by now but check your remote wire where is it beside the power wire? If so that is your problem. If your ground was bad your system wouldnt work. I have never had a whine come from my rca beign next to my power wire, it has always been the remote wire beign beside the power wire. Run your power wire down one side of the car and the remote wire down the other side that should take care of it.
