Help! No Time Avaiable!
I was looking around and have 2 options.
1. Was looking to order a sub box online for my 1989 camaro
or
2. I find a close member who could make me a box and i'll pay them.
I would honestly love to make one myself but I don't have the space or time available to be creating the box.
I honestly would love to find someone here as a member who could create one the way I'd like it, so then it would feel more appraisable to have.
If to help if someone does seem interested in taking the project i'll give you the specs i'm looking for.
I have x2 http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entert...fers/KFC-W2512
I was hoping for the typical subwoofer on each side on a flat surface and maybe the top pieces to have the full board over the whole well and top surface so there could be placement for the amp to be mounted. I have black interior carpet as well.
If someone would post or pm me if interested and how much that would be great. I was also hoping for a nice snug fit so no lose rattling or box moving around.

Re: Help! No Time Avaiable!
I could build you one like this for $250 shipped. If I made one with a top the cover the size of the hatch it would to expensive to ship.
Fit's tight and snug
Can do it in a weekend and have it shipped that Monday.
If interested you would need to do this in the next few weeks because I'm starting back College to work on another degree for summer I......then I will have no time available

Re: Help! No Time Avaiable!
You can ship them fedex, I did a calculator cost and it was around $40-45 to ship. They aren't that much bigger/heavier than the prefab boxes.

I wish I could, but that's what it would take for me to give up a weekend to build one. There are a lot of angles and cuts in that box to get it all together..def not a simple square box. It's not hard, just time consuming.
Either way it's cheaper than the local audio shop for a "custom" box.
I'm not a business, but I've been building speaker boxes for 20 years as a hobby and have a full shop complete with routers and most importantly...a table saw. Not bragging on myself, but my quality exceeds that of any prefab box or something someone did in the driveway with a drill and a jigsaw. I sand and flush all the cuts and edges...it looks good inside and out.
There are a few other members on the site that may build it a little cheaper...I would do a search. There are plans too, if you want to tackle this yourself and save some money.
If I get too wrapped up in college (few weeks) and work I may not be able to do something like this again for a while.
Either way just let me know

Re: Help! No Time Avaiable!
well the Shopbot will cut anything to about 1 thousandth of a tolerance so i figure that shouldn't be a problem... i would make them out of 3/4th inch MDF unless someone wants something specific.... Ive built a few boxes by hand b4 and they have all held up quite well... to my 12' kicker L5's
The shopbot would actually make stronger boxes because of the exact tolerances it can cut to
i could send out just cut peaces or the box built depending on whats needed may be a decent difference in price because of shipping size???
price im unsure because i haven't looked into what a sheet of MDF is running lately (its usually pretty cheep) and i dont know what shipping would be.....
however if i could make over 5 boxes i probably could build them alot cheaper then other people because i wouldn't have as much time invested

Re: Help! No Time Avaiable!
I understand that. but like i said all i'm looking for is something that to fit snug and will hold 2 10" subwoofers and a place to mount an amp, along with having the fitted spots to have my power cables to go to, also to be carpeted black camaro fabric that is used. so it matches.

Suddenly that $40 fuel pump turned into a $300 job. Thread Starter

Re: Help! No Time Avaiable!
It's all good, I find it funny when I quote a price to build a enclosure and someone starts saying how much wood costs.
I build custom jumpseat boxes for S10's in the past, here's some of my work:

To give you an example of people who thought they could do it themselves cheaper and save some money

But if your still looking for a box when your ready, let me know and I'll be glad to build it for you.
