U need a bigger battery. If u already have a decent sized battery u can also upgrade the distributor cables. My POS battery I had made my headlights dim and my HU when playin at high volumes. It would also take a lot longer to start my car up.If I was u I'd try to upgrade those 2.

do the big 3 upgrade, it include the positive from alt to battery, engine ground to batt, and chassis ground to bad... switch these cable to 0 gauge cable... u might also want to run a direct power cable from the battery with a fuse in between of course to your radio, 10 gauge should be more than fine.

I would look to a new alternator and possibly a new battery. There is no reason why your lights should dim even with stock wiring. I didn't upgrade my 'big three' because there isn't a justifiable reason for it. The wires do the job; better wires make them do their job better, but it won't solve a problem that isn't associated with the wires themselves.

or you could also put a capacitor in the lines to help hold the charge to the rest of your electronics so it doesnt drain your battery. you would only need probably a 150 farrad cap.

I think stock wiring, battery, alt etc. works ok with stock equipment, since everything is designed to work together, but when u break that "everything-works-good-as-long-as-its-stock" environment and add aftermarket HU's, power demanding electronics and power hungry speakers u break that balance and thats when a wiring upgrade becomes more of a need.
