Re: Isolator unit

You'll be fine with something like these. Look in the Group 2 applications if you have the CS130/CS144 alternator.

I have one similar by Phoenix Gold, when they were still selling them, 160 amp IIRC, maybe less (they didn't make them, just put their name on them). It does my 1400 watt system just fine. My CS130 alternator has been rewound to output 144 amps.

Another place to check for isolator/combiners that was recommended to me when I thought about going that route...

Looks like the stinger one is a relay isolator, the others are diode isolators.

Re: Isolator unit

Relay isolator is a physical disconnection. Diode isolation relys on the one way flow properties of the diodes to do the job. Diodes can leak backwards...hence they're cheaper.

Re: Isolator unit

Well I wound up getting a free relay isolator from a buddy at work, brand new.

Installed it only to find out i also had a bad battery.
Replaced battery, both are charging fine now.

This car is driving me crazy i swear!!!! At first whenever the subs would hit (after installing the isolator) i could watch the volt guage drop more every time, after replacing the battery the deck turns on, the amps turn on but no sound comes out!

thanks for all the help everyone, im starting to get frustrated
