so i plan on installing 3 12" JL audio sub-woofers and was really thinking about trying to get them to fit on the hump in the trunk right behind the back seats any thing under that hump that wouldn't let me put 3 of them on it and what amp would you recommend for 3 12" subs my amp is a mini one that wont power them so i wont even try
I wouldn't run any thing under the hump, Just run your wiring down the driverside of you interior and threw the firewall.
Also why do you want to your speakers on top of your hump?
wouldn't that obstuct you rear view?
put it in the well. something that big will become very dangerous in an accident or if you have to stop quickly, especially because there really isn't anywhere that you can safely bolt it to on the hump.
I wanted to turn the hump into a sub box by cutting three holes in it and screwing the subs to the hump so that they would be in the holes that id cut in the hump instead of trying to fit them in a box in the trunk somehow

Yes that would be a very bad idea, Your fuel tank is right there, besides you not having the room or depth needed . There is nothing to protect your speaker and your cables.
just build a sub box. its not hard. I made this one in just over two hours.
I never covered it but it sounds great

Only 2 options to do that....A .75" thick subwoofer or relocating he gas tank. Obviously only 1 of those options could happen.
I did it. should be some pics of it on here, somewhere, maybe. No holes drilled, ran power down the passenger side on the interior. they point toward the back...hatch barely..i mean barely, closes. but it sounds decent. air volume was better in the well, but i was willing to sacrifice some sound for looks.
im running 2 15" JBL's in a box mounted on top of the hump, its do-able with plenty of volume in the box for great sound, of course that all depends on what ur subs need but i think you can do it easily
I enclosed the back portion, was pretty simple. Kinda took the place of that sliding/roll up cover....
Anyway, had tried a couple different things. Settled on this back in 87.
Was running an Orion 4100 and 280 for amps, 15" and two 12" Cerwin Vega's.
CHP had my car impounded, then the amps were stolen
Running Orion 2150 and xtr2150 for the last 13 years I think. Same 15" and 12" CV's.....cv rebuilt them once.
Here's an older picture of my setup. Sun got to my amp trim and faded it. This winter I am buying new amps and sinking them into the amp board that these ones are currently sitting on. Should be a cleaner look and wont require the amp trim but still havent decided yet on how I am going to do them.
Running a Mono amp powering 3 12" Subs
4 channel amp powering 2 6X9's 2 6" round and 2 Q-forms up front for kick panels
Seems to be a fairly popular setup

In my perspective its better to have a setup where the speakers are in a box in the trunk indention slanted a bit, helps the sound travel to the front seats.

It can be done. This BARELY clears the glass. Good sound. Need to re-do the amp rack. Theory was to mount the amps up a bit with green neon behind, and backlight the camaro logo also in green neon but it just wasnt bright enough. Been like this forever. Debating re-doing the entire install in a year or two. For those wondering - no the speaker box isn't secured to the hump over the gas tank. Not sure if in an accident it'd fit between the seats and roof or not. But..i'm good with going down with the car in a crash lol.
