Need help choosing an amp...

OK, I need some help choosing between these two amps. I have a couple guys with these locally that I have been talking to. Both are new in the box. Will be using this amp to power a pair of alpine 6x9's and later on powering a single sub..... Which of these are the one to go for? both are priced at $100.00 here locally...... I am not very fluent in car audio specs and want your thoughts on these.....

Anyone? Need some of the audio guru's opinions here.... Personally, I am leaning towards the Rockford Fosgate Amp....

Re: Need help choosing an amp...

What is the RMS of your 6x9's? Both amps are 4 channel amps, not good for a single sub later on, just so u know

Personaly I'd run a 2 channel amp and when time comes bridge it down to a 1 channel for your single sub

Re: Need help choosing an amp...

The 6x9's are 75 watts rms at 4 ohm.... Figured pushing a few watts over rms wont hurt anything.... I wanted the 4 ch in case I do some add ons at a later date.

For a sub, I was told I could always bridge out 2 channels for it since both can operate in tri mode....

IMO Bro, your BEST and most EFFICIENT best would be to go to amazon and look up Pyramid Arctic Amp, 40$ and is 1000W. im using one right now, i will load a vid of it to show the magic. i have 2 12's hooked up to it( Kicker And A Alusonic) and they BUMP!! love them. and if the amp is about to overheat it shuts itself down and cools down. many awesome feutures, just IMO man, $100 for 400W isnt so good.. ripoff. Re: Need help choosing an amp...

You want a 4 channel for your speakers and a two channel for your sub

Usually 4 channels are not that powerfully enough to power a sub unless its a Walmart sub

The important thing is what type of box you plan to run cause that's makes a world of difference

Sorry man but spend more money, get better quality, and not have to worry about it shutting off. Just like anything else a protection circuit can fail and your amp can go up in a puff of smoke. ESPECIALLY if its shutting off after 45 minutes. I have a smaller PPI amp that doesn't even put out 500 watts in my wife's Xterra on 4 8" subs and I can go 3+ hours with the music cranked up and have NO issues.

Spend the money and get yourself some good audio equipment. Would you rather buy an amp, or other parts two or three times because they fail, or would you rather spend a little bit more and only make that purchase once?
