My 84 trans am has the UU7 radio code

this radio was not installed at the time but
came with the car when i bought it

is this the correct UU7 radio
if not what is it?

Not that must be a later Camaro UX1 unit. The UU7 is a radio cassette unit without equalizer.

 

I was looking through a list of rpo codes, could this one be the UU6?

 

That's an 86 Trans Am radio

 

That's not UU6, this is UX1 which appeared in 1985 IIRC. The UU6 unit had different cassette buttons. 1983 and 1984 head units are specific to these years, and there were slight differences between the two years. You should look at Fiero radios too.

I'm pretty sure this is a Camaro HU you got here, since it's black with black *****. All Firebird radio from 1985 and up were dark gray.
