enough room to bolt my sub box down?

Hey guys, I've got a sub box sitting in the back of my car (87 trans am) just behind the back seats on that little shelf there. I'm wondering if there is enough clearance underneath that shelf for me screw my box down with a bracket. Am i going to puncture anything? Like the fuel tank? Or do i have an inch or two of clearance?? Thanks for the replies in advance:P

ive heard a few people have put holes in the fuel tank trying that. as Jwrbird said use a piece of plywood or velcro. also post some pics so we can see the system.

I have been trying to figure this out also as my subs are in the same place but I think I will try the Velcro. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions on how to secure maybe custom brackets attached to the seatbelt mounts?
