This is funny that you ask this b/c I was looking through my Crutchfield magazine the other day & was looking at those decks & as I was thumbing through the specs on the deck: I'm thinking what a piece of junk.
Then later on that day I had to go to my stereo shop to have my component tweeter remounted & asked him if they carried those decks & he said HELL NO!!!!! Those decks are junk & keep in mind that this is a Rockford Fosgate dealer too.

I sell them. They are great decks. They sell well, don't look half as stupid as most other decks, and have exhibited very good reliability. Our service department has had very few, if any come in for repair. I wouldn't buy one over an alpine, but I certainly wouldn't say that they have any faults. I would like to know an actual reason for the other guys saying they don't like them. Anybody can call it junk or have an opinion, but if they don't have a reason for it, I'm not sure how much I would value their opinion.

Here is his main reasoning. He has a few cheapy decks but that's it. All of his products are high end model lines of Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer & Panasonic. He just refuses to carry the decks in b/c they do not match up at all to his criteria. But then again he has those cheapy Pioneer & Kenwwod decks in there too. So go figure.

I'd just like to see what his 'criteria' is. The rockford decks stack up nicely with other decks in the same price ranges.

Hey I had the RFX 8230 deck it worked nicely in my car, excellent power out of the internal amp 3 sets of pre outs and independtly variable sub volume, it was a great deck and is now in my X's car Im planning on getting the new 8340 from fosgate and they are great decks, in my opinion from my exp. with them.

We sell the $200 version (I forget the model number) where I work. They hardly sell; I think I've installed a total of two of them.

The main control **** is hard to use, there's no user-selectable illumination color, and you only get two pre-outs and no remote.

I think it's a little pricey for what features you get, and it's also hard to find CD changers, remotes, and such. Other than that, it seemed no different than any of the other aftermarket stuff that's out there.
