Amp is running in Safety mode.............w/n
Well last week my Aura MR-4150Q amp ran into safety mode & is not powering 2 of my subs. It sucks to be running four 12"'s & then all of a sudden lose 2 of them.
But anyways what can cause this. In the owners manual it says that it does it if it has a short cicuit or if the thermal temps exceed a certain amount. The damn amp is made out of Titanium and always stays very cool plus I check the fuses and all three 30 amp fuses are fine. Is it possible that the connection between the sub & the wire got lose? I won't be able to get my car into the stereo shop for another week when I get a day off.
Also is it bad to keep running my stereo even though 2 of my amps are running fine but have one that is on in Safety mode? I've never had this happen so I don't know if I'm harming that amp or not. Thanx guys

4 12's? Ive never heard of that amp before, but is whatever OHM's your running it at, is your amp that OHM stable? How do you have it wired? How long has it been hooked up like this?
I remember the one day my friend hooked up 2 12' Earthquakes, and 4 8' Fosgate's all on his Punch 100, first time ive seen a amp spark up in flames...

klayburn, he has 3 amps. 1 running 2 12's another running 2 more 12's and then i assume a 3rd on his highs. read the message more carefully.
mike i would check the speaker connections first, then start checking your power for being shorted out. without knowing exactly how the setup is, *I* cant really help you. Im more of a hands on guy. Someone else may be able to help you though.

i would not use the third amp if it for some reason is in the saftey mode. just unplug the power wire from it and then cap the wire. check all connections and try to locate a crack in the insulation. if thats not it, i hope you have a warrenty cuz its probably something internal.
good luck

That's cool at least I got a response from a couple people on this thread. I do have a lifetime warranty on this install cause they made it for me to compete in IASCA but hell I haven't had the time to even go & they were in my area last month, AGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!
Only the shop can fix this cause only the rear frame of the box is made out of MDF board & the entire rest of the box is made out of fiberglass so I don't want to mess anything up. I was just kinda curious if this happened to anyone.
It sucks not being able to bump your system to your hearts content.

since you didnt install the system, and probaly didnt read manuals, ill throw this out...
constant exposure of 120db+ can cause permanent ear/hearing damage. i wont lie, i bump my system loud..but not all the time. just something to think about maybe...
i think its cool how every speaker(that is good) comes with that warning...and its only because they want you buying speakers for a lifetime...heh
