Re: Dash speakers
The factory front speakers are almost certainly 10-OHM. The BOSE system uses speakers that are 2-OHM. I would not recommend using the factory 10-OHM speakers with a BOSE system.
There were some GM's that came with a 4-OHM factory 4x6. The 2 I know off the top of my head are the 4x6 used in the factory Firebird 'performance sound' Rear Speaker box ( factory system with the GAIN button/slide) & the 4x6 rear speakers mounted as the rear speakers Fiero with similar 'performance sound' system. While they are not 2-OHM,.......they are better suited for BOSE than factory 10 OHM speakers.
* I have never found a BOSE 4x6 speaker. I used 2 Thirdgen BOSE kick panel speakers as fronts under the dash in my ride. I was able to mount the small round speaker in the factory thirdgen speaker bracket with very minimal modifications. I don't know of any other car that used the same speaker,.... the only place I ever found that type of speaker was in a Thirdgen kick panel.

Re: Dash speakers
While we're on the subject, what size are the rear speakers? 6"x9"? Are they 4 ohm? I haven't removed the sail panels to look...

Most Firebirds I've seen have 4-OHM,... Most Camaros I've seen have 10 OHM ------> 6x9's in the back.

Re: Dash speakers
Thanks for that info. I found that the 80's Corvette radio won't hook up into an 84 Camaro. So, I've had my factory AM/FM cassette (84) repaired at 150.00 (circuit board). It well hook to the new replaced front 4om Kickers and years ago replaced JBL (probably) 4om rears. Radio being 10om's I believe, I well just need to watch the volume. No finding 10om speakers front or rear.

Re: Dash speakers
A Factory Delco is made to run 2-4 and 2-10 OHM speakers. ( each AMP in the radio controls 1-4 and 1-10 OHM speaker. ) Running 4 4-OHM speakers will - over time - kill the head unit. Aftermarket radios are ( mostly) made for running 4-OHM speakers and that's why there are so many 4x6 4-OHMs on the market, but almost no 10-OHMs.
I do have some GM 10-OHM 4x6's if needed. Might need to modify / add screw holes, but they are basically the same speaker as the factory thirdgen. ( these were removed from S10s. )

Re: Dash speakers
Thanks for that good info. In over twenty years I have repaired this Delco three times=$550. I may be able to send these 4om 4x6"s back to Amason, maybe. But please give me your price for those two 4x6 10 0mS on the shelf.
