Personally I like the sound of Memphis speakers. Their Studio 6x9s were CarSound magazine's best 6x9 speaker in 2000. They go for about $230 and come with external x-over/tweeter protection. Their cheaper Power Referance series 6x9's are only $150 and sound very good too. In fact they sound better than the CDT 6x9's I've heard.

Unfortunatly, the best 6x9 may not sound good to you. If you're looking for new speakers always listen to what you like and buy them only becouse you like them...not becouse they are recommended by a salesman or one of us.

The new MB Quarts are really good... My buddy has them in his grand prix with an Alpine Type R 15... Hes running the 6x9s thru his 45x4 deck and he can turn them all the way up and they dont distort... My kenwoods 6x9's I had distorted on the same system at like volume 12 and it goes up to 40...

I have MA Audio Platinum series 6X9's. The cone is injected with platinum, it has a swivel teewter, can handle tons of power, and sounds sweet. I can turn it up and never distorts. I personally like MB Quart as far as quality because they have crystal clear highs, and JL is also good. Don't forget Kicker either.

Well im a big fan of Infinity and Alpine. But just for fun id use those old Kicker subwoofer 6x9s. doubt they would even fit though. The Infinty Kappa 6x9s are better then the Alpines though. I also just noticed your in Canada so we have alot less choices this side of the border. Alot of the crap you see them talk about on here are not availible in Canada. And if you order from the state just double the posted price then see if they are really worth it. Odds are for the non-audiophile they just aren't. In Winnipeg here i can get ahold of MB Quart, Eclipse, Infinity, Alpine, Rockford, Pioneer, Kenwood, Kicker, Orion, and Sony. Those are about my only choices I really got to work with. Im sure Newfoundland aint much more different.

USBody Source, but don't buy from them, lol. Hey Sonar_un, if you read this, US Body's office is back off a country road in the trees with weeds ocergrowing over there sign. All the hoods are just stacked in a tin barn, and the office is above a mosquito infested pond, lol. All in the dirt. Anyways, if you want the best 6x9 you need to look at what kinda power and frequency you want to go to them. Do you want highs, or do you want lows? Do you want something to sound good with little power, or are you going to add an amp? etc etc. But for bass (if you give em some power) I think Rockfords sound really good. If you want highs, MB Quart has been the best for a long time. Infinity has good quality on both sides. And it really comes down to how much your willing to spend. It sounds like you have plenty of choices, lol. Those aren't bad choices.

I like the Cerwin Vega's they cost about half of what you guys are saying and with a little power they are great speakers. I got mine ofr 179 dollars and they are awesome. I swear by them. My frinds have had pioneer, kenwood, and infinities adn these are the bset sounding I think. I would go with them. Thats just me! I agree don't go to crutchfiled they are alot more expensive in there!

the newest high end rockford 6x9's are great, ive got them and the highs are super bright, the bass is tight (it rattles a few things in my door) and it does well with mid range. i got it on ebay for 140 for the pair.

Some of you might have seen the pic I posted of my KAPPAs in a box for the convertable...well that box was the Wal-Mart box with the 6.5" OMG....I finnaly got my amp switched from the 87 to the 88 and THEY F'ing THUMP for 6x9s....OMG some pl thought I had Subs in there....LOL If you get them you will not be dissapionted....I had them in Sails as well and they still thumped in there too when I amped them....not as much as the box tho, but that is to be expected..

Hey tweenkies.....please size you pic down to about half of what it is at....It taks up too much room to be a sig pic...I wish we had a set size for these............

Once again, gotta go with eclipse, best all around sound. If you like more low end try coustic or mb quart, both are good manufacturers. If your lookin to buy tho buy what sounds good to you, not just what people claim to be good
