Yeah I got a Alpine 1.5 Din the D857 model Cost me 539 Cdn so like 340 USD. Awesome awesome awesome sound quality. It has 2 sets of true 4v pre-outs with the rear being selectable as a non fadable sub out. The other neat feature i like is the Blackout mode. It increases preout voltage to 6v but you lose the visual on the deck itself. I don't have it in yet but if you want a pic of it i'll post it as soon as im done my roll of film. All and all this is probally the best 1.5 din deck out there by far.:hail:

Why dont you just get a regular DIN HU and save $100, then flush fit in in your dash??? IMHO, it looks ALOT better, but thats me

No it doesn't. I've also got that Alpine 1.5 D857, pics are at my website. No 1 din unit looks as good as a true 1.5 in a 1.5 opening. I might look flashy but it doesn't fit so it doesn't look as good. The black out feature is definatly a plus but it doesn't increase the voltage on the pre-outs. If it did then your volume would go up and I really doubt they designed the volume to go down when pre-out voltage increased. The advantage of the LEDs shutting off is a cleaner signal from less voltage floating around inside the head unit. It isn't very noticable but it does give the head unit a little more "reserve" power. Again, no change in pre-out voltage. Remember that the higher the voltage the less work the amp has to do because it doesn't have to boast the signal as much as if it only had a 1 volt signal. The difference between a 4v and 8v pre-out isn't noticable but the difference between a 2v and 4v is HUGE, more so if you're running cheap RCA cables.

The Alpine D857 looks to be a good one. Great specs and it fits!

You could always get a RCA Y-splitter and have the rear channels also going to the subs.

I have the Alpine 1.5 and I love it. I had to use the RCA Ysplitters for my subs and it works perfect
