Bad vibrations

Hi guys. I recently put in 2 Audiobahn 12" 400 watt RMS subs, with an Audiobahn amp, and the new JVC ksh-55 head unit. I got a custom made box put in the drop down section of the trunk (t-roof car). I have the subs angled cone down, into the box. (magnet up.) I am having big trouble with vibrations of my licence plate, drivers side mirror, plastic tire compartments, and the trunk lid (power pull down motor). I'm sure others have had this problem, and I would really appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction of solving this problem.

Thanks

I have an 87 firebird and i had a similar problem. what i did was i stuffed polyester filling (the stuff they use for stuffed animals) in all the spaces that rattled. that cut down the rattling by at least 60% for my car.

You might want to consider using a sound deadning material and deaden your trunk and other parts of your car with it. I just got done deadning all the panels in my trunk and the metal in the trunk. I can't say mine won't rattle because my subs aren't in yet but I think it might be a good idea for you. There are fairly inexpensive alternatives out there.

The license plate is the most common rattle. Wedging a hunk of foam or sponge behind it usually works well.

What do you have a transparent licence plate ? I've had a folded up rag behid it for the last two years. Nobody has any idea it's behind there...

You could also try some foam tape. You can get it at Ace Hardware. Should be by the door weatherstripping.
