Amp Toggle Switch?

Amp Toggle Switch?
I just bought a 16 amp 12 volt rocker switch from discount auto. I was wondering if it would work to run my amp power cable through it, so I can turn my subs on when I need them and off when I dont. I appreciate the help

The remote wire runs from the back of the desk to the amp. Once you find the wire, run it to were you want the switch. Cut the wire, put in the switch,. Continue the wire to the amp. and that is all.
