Will the Comp Cams 260 work with the CC Q-jet on LG4's?

^^ Topic. And if so, how well. Specs on the cam are mild, so I assume minor adjustements will keep things under wraps and give me a nice idle...

Comp Cams 260:
int dur at .050": 212*
exh dur at .050": 212*
int lift: .440"
exh lift: .440"

Am I going to have any problems with the Q-Jet?

What rods and hangers and jetting settings should I use with this setup?

Anything else to worry about?

Is there a better cam for the money?

Gas milage is a consern, this will be my daily driver.

I would get the Comp Cams K-Kit. Comes with springs, retainers, lifters, locks, seals, timing set and lube. The Kit costs $254.75

It will probably work. But, if you believe what Crane says, computer-compatibility involves a lot more than duration and LSA. They say it's a total package thing, with ramp rates coming into play. But, I'm sure TPI/TBI have a lot more issues with cam compatibility than CC carb does.

I'd suggest giving Comp a call and asking them directly. They may have insight that none of us does. Otherwise, I'm sure you'd be more than happy with one of Crane's milder computer-compatible cams. I get around 16-17 mpg commuting with my wild cc cam, and I have a very difficult time keeping my foot out of it (if you know what I mean). Sits and idles at 550 in gear without complaint - higher stall converter probably helps with that, though.

The good ol' DR rods, B hanger combo will probably do you fine, depending upon what else you've done to the car.

This would be the first mod. It would be a T5 setup. Later to come would be the removal of the computer and headers.

Why are you removing the headers?

Oh, I get it, "removal of the computer", and later, "headers" to be installed.

Don't remove the computer on a daily driver. You'll spend gas money on the replacement parts, and then gas mileage will go down.

i'd give them a call....... but i'd wager to say it'll be fine as long as you keep about 14.5-15" of vacuum you'll be fine,
those high energy cams don't have a lot of overlap, and are meant to keep cyl pressures high.. so that's what you looking for.

I'd think what 57kid said is pretty close to right on the rods hangers.. b-e hangers change em around and find the best one with those rods and you'll be ok.

A performance intake and headers would go well with it.. but just in stock form it would perform ok

(Edit)
Again the stock carb, and computer management system will work fine with what your doing.. i'd be hesitant to change them

It will give you very reasonable gas mileage and a good boost in power.

Thats a great cam, these engines can take quite a bit of cam (relatively speaking) when they are carbed, even computer controlled. I installed a 224 dur on my friends ccc carbed 305 and it has no problems. A little lopey but fine. If working properly dont change your intake system (exept maybe the intake itself). If you want you can later change it over. If your carb is running fine now i bet you wont feel a difference if you go to something else. If properly tunned.

The Computer controlled carbs will work with just about any cam. I had one on a 350 with a 230 .050 duration . 480 and a 109 lsa. That cam pulled about 7 inches of vacum.
