my secondaries on my 600CFM edelbrock are stuck open........i think i see the reason why, but i cant figure out what to do about it since i have no idea what i am doing with carburetors
it seems like the rod that goes from the "cam" that opens the secondaries down to the lever that is "hit" when you go WOT is stuck on the "cam"
see i really have no idea wtf i am doing
please help

ehhh i took a look at some pics of carbs and it seems like someone put the retainer on wrong...........
when should the secondaries open? at WOT?
cuz with the throttle completely closed they are propped open
if i open the throttle, WOT also, they stay in that one spot and do not move at all....................
i'm new with carbs, but common sense tells me this isnt correct...................
what should the secondaries do when i pull the throttle wide open?
car isnt running yet, but will be soon..............

You got this carb used, right???!!!
Some one had the top off the carb and mucked up the linkage when they put it back together.
Lokk for a pic of a Edelbrock carb that shows the linkage
and fix yours.
You'll figure it out.......

thanx man
lol at jfox
and yes, if it's a vac secondary carb, the secondaries will open more with less vacuum present in the system...
Mechanical secondaries rely on throttle position instead (for those high lift cams...

ok, disregard the airhorn plate being open, i looked at pic and its supposed to be like that
uhhhhhh, are the secondaries on the carbs angled? if so, maybe they are not open....................
whats the purposed of the plate thats inside the airhorn, what does it do?
what should the correct operation of the secondaries be? opened at WOT?
