today driving around was great in this nice 60 degree weather until I came up to a stop light after coming down a hill, car just flat out stalled after choke light going on and off. Which way should I adjust the choke coil? ... I know Im probabbly not helping to much with Info ask me for it and I will reply to it

The two may not be releated. The choke light coming on was probably the alternator not charging enough(the choke light is also the alternator light) because the engine was about to die. When you get it all the way warmed up, pull the air cleaner off and look at the choke--if it's open the choke is working.

took 45 seconds of cranking for it to finally start up again, would throwing a new alternator in fix the problem? or is there a better way to figure out the problem?

start your car and drive it up to a local auto parts store. most will do i free alternator check for you. if it is not putting out around 12-14 volts then yes your alternator is bad. check connections also. you may have also threw your alternator belt too. just check around your engine bay for anything wrong.

"because the engine was about to die" I don't 'think' the alternator is the source of your problem at all. The choke light when on and off because the engine was almost stopped(really low rpm)--that's normal. What I was trying to says is disregard the choke light as an indication of anything if it only comes on as the engine is barely running

Is it at all possible that I set the float to shut off the gas too soon?

Because today the choke light came on today, whenever I would let off the gas, IE turn around a corner, go down a hill, come to a stop. It didn't die cause I kept it above 750 rpms.

Are you getting any black smoke/gas smell from the exhaust when it's running rough? Is the choke opened up? Have you done any changes to the car recently(rebuilt carb or something).

choke opens, no smoke, and rebuilt the carb before the winter.

Your fuel float level is probably set too high.

Yeah, there's info(pictures) about adjusting the floats near the bottom of this page of my site.
