Quote: I'd give my left nut for a no-A/C box like that. Does anyone know where I can get one?

(super clean install, BTW)
Thanks for the comments Speed Racer!!

As for the non A/C heater box, I've seen some for sale on E-bay but I'm sure you could still find one in a scrapyard. I looked in my area to find a few that I could sell but the ones I found were too rusty to be worth removing from the car. You could also try Hawks or similar parts vendors on this forum.

I agree, that's a great color. Has the NHRA hassled you about that regulator on the firewall?

I as told several years ago that the regulator had to be mounted on the firewall, now that i put it on there i realize that it didnt have to be. But i guess thats what i get for listening to the kid at the track inspection years ago. To answer the question no problems at all and have been to several tracks. thanks for the compliments.

Here's mine. Unknown mileage 350. Got it with the car for next to nothing. Previous owner told me it was an L82 out of a 77 Vette. Seems to match the claims for the most part: 881 casting heads with 1.94/1.5 Valves, 3970010 4 bolt block. Sold to me for next to nothing as a severe oil leaker. replaced the oil pump, Oil pressure sender, pan gasket and fuel pump and valve cover gaskets. Not a drop since then. Carburation is a Jet Performance stage 1 Q-jet that I'm still trying to tune.

Took this about 3 weeks ago while charging the battery and putting the new fuel pump in.

Thanks dude! I gotta admit I got a little bit of hero worship with your car. I cut out most of the extra wires that aren't in use from my engine bay. I like to see all motor when I open the hood. I'm sort of going the same "plain jane" route with my car as you've gone with your RS.

yea I'm debating what gears to go with for my trap speed, which will change a bunch I know when I swap out to gears that suit my combo better, not sure if I should get 4.10s or 4.30s, and go to 29.5" slicks if I need to. I think I might just grab 4.10s and if I need more trap RPM then just spray the car to make the combo work

Looks weird. Some sort of direct port nitrous? Or individual throttle bodies?

Looks neat though.

You may want to put a hose clamp on your water outlet hose end

Fall/Winter 06 Project
Here's a couple pics from this fall/winter project. I give the Scrap yard 5-6 Junks a year but felt the need to save this one from the shredder. The cars an 86 Coupe with factory 305, T5, POSI, and T-Tops. The Mechanics are done and most of the suspension work has been completed. ( Just need to put the rear sway back on. ) It's time for me to learn how to do Body Work !!!!

heres my chevy caprice engine outside right now

i already swapped off the original E4ME carb and ECM operated HEI for non ECM stuff and before i have finished cleaning it up(i did take it through the car wash though, i need to remove the TVS and ECM temp switches in the intake and thermostat housing and screw in pipe thread plugs still yet, and remove a couple other things too and also install the p/s pump and hoses and remove the 70s style manifolds i stuck on it so i could fire it up

it is ready to put into the trans am otherwise, it runs good and it is tight it shuts right off immediately when i flip the toggle switch off and it also fires right up very quickly easily, ive got the timing set right on the dot good and the carb is doing awesome(new Q jet from O Reilly auto parts

i need to fire it up again on the next warm day
i like to run my engines often when are in storage/out of vehicle, it is a real nice strong smooth runner it sounds great and i only had to give 200 for it fully dressed, no leaks or smoke or ticks or anything at all \

it will work til i find something bigger and better someday

im not into chrome/shiny things or anything special on my engines, all painted parts work just as well as shiny ones, im probably going to paint this one fire red most likely, or maybe a light blue like the car will be returned back to this year sometime hopefully(factory 21 light blue car)

its just a basic ordinary engine but its reliable and runs great, and thats what i believe counts

I know, I'm ashamed, Its probably the orig fan that was used with the chevelles. Don't worry, a electric one will be in the works this year as well as other goodies, I gotta cool this engine better and let her breathe before trying her on the dyno.
